Hello, all! Happy New Year to everyone, hopefully now that the holidays have died down we can get back to business.(?)
Just an update, we have the food in line for 2019's nacfest, from Buddy's, already in the bag. I'm also in regular touch with the guy who does the shirts for it, no worries there. It appears, at least as of now, we reasonably expect larger turnout this year, how much is not known, but interest is there.
I received a letter from TwinGrove today requesting 100$ for the pavilion rental for our dinner. This has not been the case in the past, as it was provided free if we had more than 10 registered cabin and/or tent site rentals connected to our event. I will be taking this up with them.
...also included in the letter is a release of liability form, which is definitely something they have never asked of us before. It may just be a formality, but I'm not 100% comfortable signing that one personally without some guidance.

I'll get it to you. It's definitely a new thing I've never had to do before now. Why must they make this even more difficult?!!

I'm thinking about also reaching out to the bronco group to see if they have received the same, and how they plan on handling it.

Ok.

Also, let me know how you want to handle this year's costs, and I'll get the registration site up and running.

Makes me wonder if something happened with the bronco group or another group that they are now doing it for everybody, you know 1 bad apple.....

I'm pretty certain that something happened at some point, the only thing I can be sure about is if there was an incident, it wasn't us this time.
That said, even though I've never been made to feel unwelcome, I don't think it's a stretch to at least assume since the ownership change, the campground as a whole has tilted even further toward luxury/resort/family..
With our trailers and rigs taking up space in their parking lot that they would rather see open for other guests and restaurant customers, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if there's at the very least a subtle effort behind the scenes to nudge all of us off roaders elsewhere. It's obvious they can fill the entire place with rv families and hipster geeks to fill the cabins. More $$.
Hence the tent spaces being cut back to the point almost of nonexistence.
I don't like it any more than anyone else, and in all honesty I have no solid proof of my theory. Hell, the writing has been on the wall for years though. They've even screwed the locals by cutting back staffing and hours to the point I've been there multiple times in the past couple years and never even had to talk to a human being to check in or out. And I'm sure I'm not the only one to notice the bathrooms and whatnot are not being taken care of nearly as much as when it was under the koa umbrella. I'll be watching closely how this year goes and play it by ear as to whether we continue to use it as home base. There are options.

I hear ya Rich, would be a shame to have to move home base, but hey if they want to lose business that is up to them, like you said tho they can fill the cabins and such. Hell I think the hotels down the road are similar in price and have “continuous” hot water...lol. Guess all we can do is monitor the situation and see.

It would be a shame to move home base, and could be disastrous as well. It's something we just have to play by ear more than anything else. It would take something horrible for me to endorse moving things out of there, carol and I have looked very hard over the years to see if there was a better option, whether because it was more convenient, more affordable, etc..
To everyone reading this I ask that you trust that at this point our event will continue to be based here until what point we are made to feel unwelcome.
There are two nice campgrounds nearby that only have missed our consideration mainly because of lack of cabin space. That, and one is very rough on tow rigs pulling out with a seriously steep hill.
I'm looking out for everyone's best interest.
Rich.

I have costing down. Covering dinner from Buddy's, one T-shirt, and the dash plaque, we are looking at 26$ our cost. The special awards are not really a big deal.
The shirts are 9$ apiece, our cost, 10$ for 2xl and up.
That's the breakdown...What do you think is reasonable as to pricing knowing that for this year?
Shirt design and theme is on my mind, and Fwiw, pricing reflects a 2 color print, any more would add to cost.
Let's hear you!

Is that 26 per person? I don’t remember but we’re the t shirts included in pricing or extra last year?

I just looked up what I payed last year. I paid 60 for one reg, one extra meal ticket and 2 shirts. That equates to about 30 plus 15 for extra shirt and 15 for extra meal ticket

Thanks Paul! Iirc, we priced the extra meal tickets at 10 last year at a slight loss, with registration at 35$ including one meal ticket and one shirt. I know we priced it very tight.

Anyway, I'd like to get this hashed out soon, we have had some traffic come our way thanks to Eric's efforts through the facebook page. There's been some attention coming through Garden State jeep's facebook page also, but I have some concerns about tying anything from there to us too closely.
Suffice it to say I don't think they are running a very tight ship over there. Contact me personally for a full explanation.

Well, I’d say price it to where we make a few bucks but not out of reach, I know easier said then done. In the past Nac-Fest usually made enough to pay for what used to be Rocktoberfest. We are not here for profit, but a little profit won’t hurt.
