Co-worker thought he was funny constantly changing the adjustments on my desk chair...... So....... I saw his car keys sitting out at his workstation and took 'em.

His car got parked in the center of the Sheriff's office parking lot surrounded by 5 marked patrol cars with overhead lights left on. What's good about this is that jail Deputies aren't issued a patrol car key...... not gonna be easy for him to un-surround his car...... I then drafted up 6 clue cards giving hints as to where his keys could be found. 1st card was where he left his car keys initially, the others were in various places in the jail, generally requiring that he walk to far ends of the facility for each clue. Last clue led him to a gun locker key. In the indicated gun locker he found a duct-tape "egg". His car keys were in a plastic baggie, wrapped in about 20 feet of duct tape. Oh, and his seat was moved all the way forward, his wipers turned on, radio volume all the way up and heater fan on high.....:D

Another one: Easy too..... Took an XJ horn, screwed it to a 1x3 board. Ground wire to horn frame with 2' of wire and 'gator clip. 3' of positive wire and female blade terminal. Board and horn wedged between truck bed and underbed spare tire, gator clip to nearby ground source. Positive wire plugged into his trailer hitch 7-pin for the brake light circuit. As he left the parking lot, everytime he applied the brakes, the horn "behind" him went off......... He drove miles like that! :D

Any other prank stories?

Nope, I don't believe in pranks. I'm also against sarcasm and jokes, nothing but seriousness over here. :D

What are my favorite 2 VW's? Hints: They aren't made in Wolfsburg, but instead made in Osnabruck. They aren't convertibles but one could be optioned as such. 1 is watercooled and the other is aircooled. And if you tried hard enough you could find one of each that was built in 1974.

The vw thing ?
Thats only 1, and no The VW Thing (or Trekker or Safari or Type 181) was produced in Wolfsburg and Mexico. I don't particularly care for those anyways. Although the Iltis was cool. :D

Here is the one that raced Dakar (I actually saw it in person when I made it out to the VW Museum in Wolfsburg):

And the military version:

The Iltis replaced the Kubelwagen (basically a Thing) (spl?) as the VW based Jeep for the German military. Its 4WD system was actually the basis for Audi's Quattro system.

What exactly are you referring to?

Rabbit? Is that one?

The standard MKI Golf (Rabbit in North America) was not built in Osnabruck, only the the convertible variant was. I do love me some MKI Golf action though. I've owned a 1978 RabbitC 1.7L CIS (fuel injected) 4spd manual variant that was actually built in Germany and I owned a 1984 Rabbit GTI 1.8L CIS-E 5spd manual. I've also owned a "Caddy" which is the slang term for the Rabbit Pickup. The GTI and the Caddy were both made in Westmoreland, PA here in the United States. A factory that was so horrible in its quality control and production rate (due to continuous stikes by the same american workers who couldn't even build the cars correctly) that it was shut down by VW who has since had the North American cars built in Mexico and Brazil.

Although as a further hint, one of the 2 cars in question is built on the same platform as the MKI Golf and was the replacement for the other car in question.

So my favorite 2 VW's are????

Karmann Ghia and Beetle???

Question: Supra or Skyline?
Karmann Ghia is correct, the Beetle is a no. The second car is the Scirocco. Both the Karmann Ghia and The Scirocco were produced under contract for VW by Karmann Coachwerks in Osnabruck, Germany. The Ghia being on a modified Beetle chassis and the Scirocco on a modified Rabbit/Golf chassis. Both cars were VW's entry into the sport coupe market with the Scirocco replacing the Ghia. They are my favorite two models of VW and while I've wned 2 second generation Sciroccos I've yet to get my hands on a first generation Scirocco or a Karmann Ghia. But one day I shall have them all. A Ghia, a Scirocco I, a Scirocco II, and Scirocco II (actually called a Corrado but it was originally intended to be a Scirocco), and the current Scirocco that VW of America has stupidly deprived the United States of.

To answer our question, Skyline. Although if I had to go rice I'd take an STI over either one.

Left or Right?
