I heard that Rcv's won't fit with inner sleeves. Has anyone else heard this?

Ill find out when I go to insatll axles. havent insatlled sleeves as of yet sitting at home on my workbench. Going to install axles and sleeves at same time. I dont see how sleeves would prevent the RCVs from fitting shafts are pretty much standard diameter . the sleevs dont protrrude out from the axle housing. If so I can always cut them down.

I am not expecting these axles to be the unbreakable , I just like the design much better than u-joint style. U joints are inherently problematic. It makes sense if you reduce binding you should reduce breakage. My first broken axle U-Joint I want be the last and it should be considering thell be gone shortly.

Correct! But the odds of a RCV breaking is significantly less then a Ujoint axle. Almost like saying I dont believe that the D60 is unbreakable, any axle can break.
This is typical issue with JK's and the D44 rubi front end. When you sleeve it, the ID of the sleeve is at 1.50 +/-. And the OD of a 35spline upgrade RCV kit is at just a tad bit over that, I believe its 1.53. So no bueno.
Also with RCV's you can not have inner C inside gussets. Only the outside design.
So by that logic, we might as well all buy cheap crap, if it's just gonna break anyway.

No but all of the good ones will.
I've never had a problem replacing a Warn, Ten Factory or Alloy Usa shaft. I hear that modern Yukon is the same way, no questions asked.. I've got a couple of recent yukon shafts installed, havent had the pleasure of breaking one yet.
I was counting yesterday, I have warranted 7 axles this year. Two this month..
None of them took more than 2 minutes and no questions asked.

RCVs arrived yesterday!! Wish I was home to see them. Being a truck driver sucks balls. Next two Weeks is going to drag on forever. Chomping to get them in and start wheeling !

Glad to hear you got some axles man. The install is a little tricky and time consuming, so don't get discouraged. Here are some tips:
-Take your time grinding the knuckles. Go a bit at a time so you don't take off too much material.
-The boots are a bit of a pain to install. Use a flathead screwdriver to break the air seal of the boot over the ball and it'll slide right together.
-Use an impact wrench to get the big hub nut on. They are fine threads and the nut is the pinch-lock type, so it takes forever to get that bitch on. At the end, properly torque it down to 175 ft-lbs. If you don't, the unit bearing gets focked up and can ruin your RCV boots (ask me how I know). Also, this nut is slightly smaller than the stock one, so go buy the correct socket once you have the nut.
-Finally, buy new timkin unit bearings from rock auto when you install the RCV's. You don't want to have to take these things apart again cuz that nut is seriously a PITA.

Yup. I have a D30 with RCV's, ARB, 4.56s on 35s and it sheared 5 teeth off the ring gear. That's definitely the weak link now, but mine was probably due to a bad gear install. I've still put it through quite a bit since that incident and everything held up fine.

This is encouraging to me. I hope to have my RCV's by the end of August.
