Just thought i would wet your whistles a little bit with some pictures from the Sierrafest trails.

The Rubicon, top of the granite bowl with Loon Lake in the background.

Buck Island Lake, near the dam crossing.

Our anticipated camp site near Buck Island Lake. Waking up to that view was a great thing.:flipoff:

First water crossing on Fordyce Creek. The water was actually quite low when this pic was taken. Those are 33's almost entirely under water.

Fordyce Creek, after the first water crossing.

Top section of Winch Hill 1 on Fordyce.

The Squeeze on top of Winch Hill 3 on Fordyce. Optional obstacle, but so much fun. :)

Filth Phil's successful run through the Squeeze

Our anticipated camping area on Fordyce Creek. With a lagoon and waterfall in the backgound.

You can explore the creek and rocks along the steep canyon.

One lesson about Sierra trails: They don't break you in one obstacle, it's the constant pounding that exposes the weak links and exploits them.

Just make sure every bolt is torqued, and you are not running tires that your axles can't handle.

Maintenance is really the most important aspect to being succesful on a week long trip. If you suspect a problem, stop and check it out, or have someone else check it out before it turns into a huge issue.

Don't be the weakest link!

from the first post, you sure that squeeze is Winch Hill 5? I've always heard it called WH 3, and I can't think of what sections would be number 3 and 4 if that's 5.

I have a Sierra Trek guidebook that refers to it as winch hill 5. If it is not, then I have no clue what it is called. Well other than a kick ass section to run that is. :)
