I'm in Genoa, NV for a few days. Any good trails leading to ghost towns, etc around here that are worth seeing. I've explored all over VC, and farther away, not so much around here.

Have you done Genoa Peak Trail? It start on the tahoe side off of Kingsbury Grade, you cross 50, then keep going on the other side and it drops you on the nevada side of the mountains. It helps to have a gps of a good map though, the trail network up there is kinda crazy.

Moonrocks, and there are a few canyons in reno. There is a river bed that's cool in gardnervill but idk the name. I do much help

Those sound like fun. How tough is the genoa peak trail? There's snow up top right now. I'll Google that one.

Super easy, probably still really easy with the snow. Its basically fire road, but you get great views. After your cross 50 though it gets harder. I haven't done it after 50, it was on my list of trails to hit this summer but 3 rubicon trips took up a lot of time

Sweet. I'll have to check it out. I tried finding some trail heads off the 207, but looks like I need to go to the other side of the valley. Old kingsbury grade is now a gated road.
